Level 3 to Extend Broadband Service to Lincoln

Mayor Chris Beutler today announced that the City has entered into a lease agreement with Level 3 Communications to extend its fiber optic infrastructure to the City. Level 3 will use the fiber optic conduit grid recently installed in as part of the Lincoln Technology Improvement System (LTIS). Level 3 is a global telecommunications provider based in Broomfield, Colorado.

"Level 3 operates a global fiber optic network, and its international presence is becoming increasingly important as technology adapts to the ever-changing global demands," Mayor Beutler said. "This is another example of how City technology initiatives can be a catalyst for strengthening our position in a highly-competitive business environment."
