Nebraska should focus on job quality over quantity, economic development report says

As state leaders work to improve Nebraska’s largest economic development tool, a report issued earlier this summer urges them to encourage businesses with high-skill, high-paying jobs.
The nearly $100,000 report also notes that the average take-home pay in Nebraska is 21 percent below the national average, a figure that top officials want to address.
Gov. Pete Ricketts said the report suggested several economic development issues he’s heard about while traveling the state.
