City council invests in Lincoln's economic growth

Recently companies say they choose Nebraska for business opportunities because of the people here and their work ethic. Now as Lincoln continues to grow, the city's being asked to reinvest in the community to bring more people here, and keep people here.
The Lincoln Chamber Economic Development Corp. is investing $200,000 into the city's business future, and now the city will match it.
The city council approved the investment at Monday's meeting. President of the program said the money will be instrumental in new summer internship programs, retaining UNL graduates, and even setting up an international technology conference. All will this be crucial to filling the surplus of job openings in the area.
