For today's young job seekers, place is just as important as opportunity when it comes to accepting a job offer.

The good news? Lincoln remains a great place to live and work as hundreds of talented young people complete internships in the city and surrounding area each summer. Now in its second year, our MyTern program hopes to make sure that the interns have a rewarding out-of-office experience that not only enriches their work on the job, but also shows them the attractive qualities Lincoln has to offer.

Over 300 interns are participating in MyTern 2018, with employers from across the city sending their young and potential future employees to discover Lincoln. The interns get an opportunity to forge connections with one another and network, but they also get to see what Lincoln can offer them should they choose to make it home once they've decided to start their careers.

The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development is thrilled to partner with the great companies in our community to connect these interns from a variety of industries, backgrounds and hometowns with engaging events and networking opportunities. Showcasing Lincoln's collaborative community spirit, we're excited that so many different businesses have continued to support MyTern and helped it grow through its second year. Their support makes not only MyTern possible, but also allows us to grow our community and deepen the talent of our workforce for years to come.

From an introduction to the "Happy Hour", to yard games in The Railyard and a chance to help shape the master plan for downtown Lincoln, this summer's MyTern program has four great events to put Lincoln on a center stage. The program started on June 5 with the other three events scheduled for June 21, July 10 and July 27.
