The Henderson Health Care Services Board of Directors recently approved the construction of a new long-term care facility to be located directly north of the current 60-year-old facility at 1621 Front Street in Henderson.

“With constantly changing regulations and needs of the residents, a new long-term care facility is imperative for the continued care of the residents, satisfaction of the staff and continued economic development in the Henderson community,” said Cheryl Brown, Henderson Health Care Services CEO. “I am pleased with the forethought of the board and I am looking forward to seeing their vision carried out.”

The new facility will provide 40 resident rooms, a large activity room, library, therapy room, large living rooms with fireplaces and small, more private dining.

Barb Chelewski, Henderson Care Center Director of Nursing said, “The new facility will allow more room for resident activities, dining and interaction with family and guests. The staff will be able to provide a higher level of care in the updated resident rooms.”

The new long-term care project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2018 and be completed in the May of 2019.
