Awards and Recognition

Utica, Neb. (pop. 857) has earned designation in the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s (DED) Leadership Certified Community Program.

"The process to become a Leadership Certified Community has assisted the Village of Utica, the Seward County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC), and its countywide partners to create a proactive and sustainable approach to growth in Utica," said Jonathan Jank, SCEDC Executive Director. "It has helped us identify Utica's existing strengths, bring together its key stakeholders, and encouraged us as local leaders to promote Utica to a larger audience. This important organizational effort will contribute to Utica's long-term community success."

"This designation award should put Utica in a better position to continue to be a very growing and progressive community," said Don Olson, Utica Village Board Chair.
