The County-Wide Fillmore County Housing Study with Strategies for Affordable Housing was completed by Hanna:Keelan Associates in July, 2016. The study was completed with the guidance and direction of Fillmore County Development Corporation (FCDC) and a Housing Steering Committee. The Housing Study was funded by a Housing Study Program Grant provided by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority with matching funds from FCDC who received a grant from the Mary F. Tous Charitable Foundation.
The purpose of the county-wide housing study was to continue a housing vision and provide a vehicle to implement housing development programs in Fillmore County. It identified a total of 90 units (54 owner, 36 rental) to be developed in Fillmore County by 2021. Of those, the housing study estimated that 56 units (36 owner, 20 rental to be developed for the County's workforce population.
“Housing is economic development and the FCDC wants to match housing opportunities with those of business recruitment and expansion,” stated Patt Lentfer, FCDC Executive Director.
