New High School in Crete
26 Jun 2017
Voters for the Crete Public School System approved a record $33 million bond issue for a new high school and renovations to other school buildings. Officials said that this bond issue will assist the 1,854-student district to keep up with steadily increasing enrollment. Bond issue money will be used to build a $23 million high school which will add instructional space and other amenities for approximately 750 students.
Renovate the current high school into a middle school, add a fire sprinkler system, and create other amenities for the elementary school and former middle school. The bond issue will raise the tax levy from $1.15 per $100 of valuation to $1.34 per $100 of valuation.
