Commission forwards changes, downtown plans

At its monthly meeting Monday at City Hall, the Crete Planning Commission dealt with three zoning issues and heard a presentation from a planning firm on a proposal for a downtown revitalization plan.
Following a public hearing, the commission recommended that the city council change the zoning classification of a wedge-shaped area from Wood to Sycamore Avenues between 10th and 11th Streets from C-2 (commercial) to I-1 (industrial).
